Veterans Benefits: Students who qualify for assistance should contact the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or call 888-442-4551. Once a benefit package has been determined, contact American Winds’ Financial Office Manager who will assist in applying for VA education benefits.
American Winds is approved by the Ohio Department of Veteran Services (State approving agency for Veteran Education & Training) for several IHL (institution of higher learning) AAS (associate) degree programs and select stand-a-lone courses. The Veteran Administration has strict rules when applying veteran benefits to degree and non-degree programs. Veteran Benefits are applied differently when enrolling in a college associate degree program versus a non-degree individual flight course. A veteran who would like to enroll in one of the approved associate degree programs will need to review their benefits.
Veterans should remember not to confuse IHL associate degree programs with non-degree individual flight courses. For clarification please visit the veteran administration benefits website or call their representative.
