Learn to Become a Pilot
There’s more than one way to get paid to fly! At American Winds College of Aeronautics, we provide comprehensive, FAA-certified flight and ground instruction for aspiring aviators. As an American Winds student, you’ll receive personalized, career-focused pilot training that gets you in the skies faster. Professional Pilot Program
With a Degree (18 – 24 mos avg.)

The most direct route to the Captain’s seat at a major airline

Rotary Transition Program
With or Without Associate Degree (12 – 20 mos avg.)
- Transitioning from flying helicopters (rotary-wing) to piloting single-engine or multi-engine airplanes (fixed-wing) for major airlines, freight delivery companies, private charter services, and more
- Your ticket to seamlessly transitioning from helos to a wide variety of fixed-wing aircraft careers
Commercial Pilot Program
No Degree (10 – 12 mos avg.)
- Piloting opportunities for private or corporate charters, delivery and freight companies, flight schools, and more
- Your ticket to a lucrative career as a professional pilot outside the major commercial airlines
Instructor Pilot Program
No Degree (12-18 mos avg.)
- Paid flight experience while sharing the thrill of defying gravity with new flight students as a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
- Your ticket to accruing the required 1,500 flight hours toward your Restricted Airline Transport Pilot (R-ATP) or full ATP certificate while earning an income

Fall Term: Starts October 1 — enroll by October 14
Enroll in an American Winds career pilot program by October 14 and earn a Tuition Rebate upon program completion, on top of training that already costs a fraction of the big academies!
- Save $5,000 when you start from zero experience (PPL)
- Save $3,000 when you start at Instrument Rating (IR)
*Students who enroll at American Winds by 10/14/26 from zero experience (PPL) and complete the full program through their CFI rating will receive a Tuition Rebate of $5,000 upon program completion. Students who start at Instrument Rating and complete the full program through their CFI rating will receive a Tuition Rebate of $3,000 upon program completion. Offer not eligible for students using VA benefits.
To be eligible for the savings, students must meet the following requirements:
- Enroll in an American Winds career pilot program
- Enroll by October 14, 2026
- Start training from zero experience or Instrument Rating
- Complete the program through your CFI rating
